Melissa L. Hirn, J.D., AAI, ARM, is the President and Owner of Sphere HR & Risk Masters, LLC, an HR, employment, and risk management compliance consulting company. She works with small businesses and their owners, as well as municipalities and nonprofit organizations, to navigate employment law compliance, HR operations, and risk management issues.
Melissa brings a unique perspective by integrating legal insight and property and casualty insurance coverage knowledge into her consulting work, helping clients make practical, defensible decisions as their organizations grow and evolve. She is also the owner of Hirn Law, PLLC, where she provides related legal advisory services.
She studied at the University of Dayton School of Law (J.D.), where she served as an Assistant Editor of the Dayton Law Review, and at Western Michigan University (B.S., magna cum laude). She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and serves on the Insurance and Indemnity Section Council, where she also chairs the Programming Committee. Melissa is also a licensed insurance producer and holds the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations.
She has been published in a variety of legal and industry publications, including the Michigan Bar Journal, Michigan Lawyers Weekly, and ICLE Michigan Insurance and Law Practice.
Melissa is passionate about helping organizations build compliant, well-structured workplaces and is known for her practical, business-oriented approach. Outside of her professional work, she is an avid golfer and two-time club champion, and she also performs professionally as a violinist—interests that reflect the discipline, focus, and attention to detail she brings to her work.

Bob Webber serves as Director of Risk Management for Sphere HR & Risk Masters, LLC, bringing extensive experience in insurance consulting and risk management across a broad range of industries, with a particular emphasis on municipalities and public-sector organizations.
His work focuses on helping organizations identify and manage operational risks, evaluate insurance coverage and risk transfer strategies, and develop practical approaches to protecting their assets and operations. Bob brings an understanding of the unique exposures faced by municipalities, including public facilities, infrastructure, employees, and the delivery of essential services.
Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and his MBA in Insurance Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin. He also holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation and continues to pursue professional development in areas including enterprise risk management, workers' compensation, zoning administration, and emergency financial management.
Bob is committed to helping organizations make informed decisions about risk and insurance protection. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys golfing with friends and family.
